Refund Policy

Overview

Purchases from Apophenia are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record, which handles payment processing and executes refunds on our behalf. Our plugins are digital goods delivered electronically, so the conditions below apply in line with EU consumer protection law.

Try Before You Buy

Every paid plugin has a free demo, and it is the best way to confirm that the sound, workflow, and performance work for you on your system before purchasing. We encourage you to try it first - it is the full plugin, so what you hear in the demo is exactly what you get.

14-Day Refund Window

Within 14 days of purchase, we will refund you if:

  • the plugin has a technical defect that prevents it from working as described, and we cannot fix it for you within a reasonable time;
  • the product materially differs from its description on our site; or
  • you accidentally purchased the same product twice.

Change-of-mind requests are reviewed case by case - since the free demo lets you evaluate everything up front, we may decline them. We cannot refund purchases where the plugin simply does not run on a system below the stated minimum requirements, or requests made more than 14 days after purchase.

EU Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU. By completing checkout and downloading or activating the product, you consent to immediate delivery of the digital content and acknowledge that this waives the statutory right of withdrawal once the content has been made available to you. The refund window above still applies as described.

How to Request a Refund

Email support@apophenia.studio with the subject "Refund Request - [your order number]". Include the email address used at checkout, the product name, and a short description of the problem. We reply within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed through Paddle back to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

After a Refund

When a refund is issued, the license key from that order is deactivated and can no longer be used to activate the plugin. You must uninstall any copies you have installed.
